UX/Product Design

While some may argue the difference in the roles of product design vs UX design, I believe their skills are similar and can be interchangeable. Whereas product design is seen to skew more towards a broader overview of the product and making sure its meets business objectives and UX design focusing more on meeting user needs, I am fluid between the two. I love crafting thoughtful and delightful experiences for clients when they interact with the organization across any platform.

With my UX certification from the Nielson Norman Group NN/g, and a masters degree in business, entrepreneurship and technology from the University of Waterloo, I am able to blend design and business. Design Thinking

Strongly connected to my workshop facilitation skills is my design thinking knowledge. I have ran several design thinking workshops which has given me the experience and knowledge needed to build product & experiences that matter while reducing cost, time, resources and risks. While design thinking isn't a linear process and the results aren't always what we want - the value is that, the learnings give us knowledge and insight into the problem and or solution space. It will either confirm our hypothesis or disprove them without us wasting time and resources.

Workshop Facilitation

UX workshops are an integral part of my tool kit.
Some projects require workshops with stakeholders from all levels leadership. I have facilitated workshops with clients, business partners, executive leaders and team mates. Workshop facilitation requires a good understanding of the project, peoples behaviours, thinking and the right tool or exercise for that workshop. Research

With my experience in building an entirely novel and effective research program (Voice of Advisor) in my previous role. I have acquired the skills to help organizations develop their own internal research programs and teams to help them get quality data to make business, product & client decisions. The program provided advisors the space to be heard and the opportunity to collaborate with the business on building innovative solutions that matter to their clients and business. This proved useful and valuable to the organizations. Teams and business units started engaging us to run research on their behalf. The results were then used to make decisions that impacted products, clients and ultimately the business.
